In addition to agency stints, Mike worked for Landmark Communications, a privately owned and operated media company as a broadcast executive for nearly 18 years. Specifically overseeing the operation of broadcast, cable, and Internet ad sales for the #1 West Coast CBS Affiliate, KLAS Channel 8 in Las Vegas, Mike’s every day tasks included monitoring and adapting to the rapidly changing dynamics between the traditional media and new media world. His sales teams grew to be both traditional media and new media experts as they developed advertising plans for their clients including broadcast, print, cable, and Internet.
In addition, Mike served on cross-property strategic committees for Landmark as the company developed strategies to adapt to new media emergence affecting the core business. Owning five daily newspapers, two television stations, Dominion Enterprises, which owns several of the Trader publications and websites, Landmark is also credited with starting the Weather Channel and weather.com, that it sold to NBC in 2008 for $3.5 billion.
