Mike Watkins is a marketing and communications professional based in Las Vegas. His background includes copywriting, project management, and production development for advertising agencies in addition to sales and marketing leadership in broadcast television and online advertising.
With over 20 years of both traditional and new media experience, Mike’s insights into the forever changing media world have become a vital resource to business owners and marketing directors. In addition to agency stints, Mike worked for Landmark Communications, a privately owned and operated media company as a broadcast executive for nearly 18 years. Specifically overseeing the operation of broadcast, cable, and Internet ad sales for the #1 West Coast CBS Affiliate, KLAS Channel 8 in Las Vegas, Mike’s every day tasks included monitoring and adapting to the rapidly changing dynamics between the traditional media and new media world. His sales teams grew to be both traditional media and new media experts as they developed advertising plans for their clients including broadcast, print, cable, and Internet.
In addition, Mike served on cross-property strategic committees for Landmark as the company developed strategies to adapt to new media emergence affecting the core business. Owning five daily newspapers, two television stations, Dominion Enterprises, which owns several of the Trader publications and websites, Landmark is also credited with starting the Weather Channel and weather.com, that it sold to NBC in 2008 for $3.5 billion.
With a prominent background in television ad sales and production, Mike is passionate about opportunities in video marketing and optimization.
